Characteristics and methods for modeling of LED elements used in the lighting are considered and described in the paper. Abilities and characteristics of LED elements for application in the lighting with the aim to increase quality of lighting and decrease energy consumption for the lighting are described first. Results of comparison with other possible lighting sources are given. Modeling of such LED elements and their simulation are considered and described then. Simulation results and comparisons with the manufacturers data are given also.
